There's always plays to re-visit from a nail-biter game, but one that's eating at me is BRey's weak come-backer to the pitcher for a Home to First D.P. to end the 8th inning. That's where you need your best hitter, with biggest contract, to come thru and get the runner on third home.
Cruz was noticeably limping last night and had some medical attention after a first to third sprint in the ninth.....wouldn't be surprised if a 10-day IL is being considered. If so, would allow them to call up Nick or Bae.
I haven't seen him run all out since he has been back this year. Then again, maybe he tweaked something on the pop up that he avoided colliding with Reynolds.
Right -- I could see Rowdy's right quad visibly tightening during his botched infield plays the other night and his feeble whiffing pinch hitting appearance last night. "Hey Rowdy, doesn't your leg hurt? Like, real bad?" "Oh, uh, yeah coach! Real bad. Can barely walk."
Should be worth 10 days and a 20 day rehab stint in Indy.
Pretty well played game last night, bummer we lost, but I never thought we were that good, so I can deal with it without blaming the mgr every time bednar and chapman implode, or some bad hitter doesnt come thru... This year does make me long for those years (2013-2015) that it just seemed like such a given we would win with a lead after 6, boy that was an awesome time...
Does it sound like Braxton Ashcraft is being kind of tentative? I would be too. He's suffered 3 major injuries - non-throwing shoulder surgery 2019, knee surgery 2020, Tommy John surgery 2021-22. He got through 2023 and it was obvious the Pirates and he were just trying to make it through a full season.
After almost 4 years lost due to injuries and recoveries, I think he is just trying to make sure there are no further hurdles that will cost him weeks or months of downtime.

For me it is usually when we have a guy on second no one out, then our hitter doesn't see the importance of moving him over.
Nick and lamb for cruz and tellez, we need to shake something up

good opportunity to shake things up
would also give Rowdy something phantom to figure out his whoa´s in the batting cage for a week
call up Peguero and Nick to find some magic! Also call up Mlod and get Triolo some reps at first

Even better, cite the brain cramps he's been having.
sending Tank down would not be a wise decision if we want to see JJ continue on his ways
He and Priester seemed to be on the same page last night as well.

-I have mentioned a few times that I have seen Priester look really good and really bad in Indy. I'm glad we saw his really good stuff last night.
