After another long offseason, baseball is officially on the horizon as pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training this week.
For the Pittsburgh Pirates, their pitchers and catchers report on Wednesday, February 12th. The first official team workout will be that following Monday the 17th.
They kick off their Grapefruit schedule on Saturday, the 22nd, against the Baltimore Orioles.
Pittsburgh will enter a crucial season, the sixth under General Manager Ben Cherington. They are coming off back-to-back 76-win seasons and have yet to have a winning season under the current regime.
On top of the players on the 40-man roster, the Pirates will have several Non-Roster players in camp. WTM will have a multi-day series breaking down who else will be with the major league team during Spring.
