@>B Rey with a 2 for 4 day with two doubles, a run scored and one driven in.
@>@>The Bullpen for doing what it is supposed to do. Accepting for said Bullpen will be two of the three pitchers tied with 5 carrots. HodorMan and ChapMan were the last two to get to five, so they each get one. Even as Bednar closed the game for save #15, it is best to think of The Bullpen as a unit, and when one gets some carrot juice, the others get a little drunk!
@>@>@> Baby Skenes for six innings of one run ball and his fourth win.
After yesterday’s 2-1 loss to the Reds, the Bucs continue to confound in the NL Central Logjam and as long as four teams keep this act up the longer the Brewers can coast.
Some mixed blessings. Jones’s fastball flew pretty far in Colorado. As June gets into full swing, apparently a number of Bucco Bats are doing likewise. On Rowdy, On Cutch, On B Rey! And it also seems the warmer weather has brought a new swagger to The Bullpen, which is doing what it is supposed to do more often than not. Team needs just a little something to turn the trick here, but the first team in the Logjam that finds it could spring free of the pack in pursuit of the Brewers. Let us hope it is us.

34 down. 47 to go.
The Pirates win a bullpen game… (get used to it, Wabbit)… and the cavemen were back at the bat rack. We welcome Jason… Delay to the carrot leaderboard as he’s already caught up to MAT with 1 carrot. It was an 8-2 win over the Rockies, and ya gotta get that Rocky Mountain fresh Coors Beer to go with yer
CARROTS ON THE HOUSE!!!!
@>Jason Delay for his clutch 2-out bases clearing double.
@>@>Flemming for four scoreless innings when the chips were down.
@>@>@>Rowdy Tellez who is heating up! 3 for 5 with 2 rbi. So good to see Rowdy get on track!
"This is an average, top-heavy system, with the best two guys having big success in the majors, while the rest of the farm is grounded in high-variance, high-risk types."
Bailey Falter has transformed himself from a pedestrian SP or MRP with the Phillies in 2023 (0-7, 5.13 ERA) to a fairly valuable trade prospect in 2024. Excellent trade last year by BC (Rodolfo Castro), and have to put a lot of credit on Pirate Pitching Coach, Oscar Marin, for his development. Another QS last night.
Patrick Reilly coming up big for GBO keeping them a half game ahead of Jersey Shore with only 2 games remaining in the first half. Be interesting to see if that game not played by GBO will be the difference, and the possibility that the first half could be decided later in the season? Hudson Head with a 2 run HR the difference and it is hard to believe that he is still only 23! Only 169 AB in 2023, he still K's quite a bit, but can he provide some power or is it just GBO?
The Pirates have some good OPS numbers the last 15 games led by Bryan Reynolds. Cutch, Tellez, Cruz, and Suwinski have improved, but Hayes, Triolo, and Gonzales have dropped - still very competitive. Hopefully we see Ke go on a tear similar to last year.
The Orioles have had multiple injuries to their starters and supposedly have been looking for possible additions. Ten of their top 30 prospects are outfielders and they already have a pretty damn good outfield. Kjerstad and Mayo are probably unavailable but they have several other guys who aren’t part of their short term plans and might be available for someone like Falter.
Would BC be willing to trade a starter now and admit he’s not really trying to win or will he stick to the script? Some people would be unhappy either way, but this organization is going to have to find some way of acquiring a couple of decent outfielders if it plans to contend this year or in the near future, and we all know the aversion they have to signing quality free agents.
Whoa. Not a fan of that one. Green had problems hitting the ball even in high school and hasn’t improved. He’s hitting .162 in the Carolina League and has struck out over 50% of the time since he’s been in pro ball. Gotta do better than that.
From my brief exposure to watching Reilly, he's our next Jared Jones. Fingers crossed.

No McAdoo?
Nope just a bunch of 4/5 SPs up and down the list
With a couple of aces up top.
Who'll have to win 1-0 every night because the top hitter on the list AA or above is the 35th ranked prospect.
Anything to Solometo going to the developmental list?
Control has been way off this year. Probably so he can focus on getting his release point back

Morning, Mel.
High A has me box score watching Jersey Shore! Then you have Hoppers with a day game today, and Jersey plays at night against Brooklyn.
tempting for him to be the one we trade for a hitter

Nationals too
sources saying Solometa for Elijah Green
