Pirates homer three more times, beat Braves 5-1.
The Pittsburgh Pirates continued their heavy-hitting ways on Tuesday, launching three more home runs en route to a 5-1 victory over the Atlanta Braves.
Oneil Cruz, Jack Suwinski, and Billy McKinney all went deep for the Pirates, who now have 34 home runs in 18 games this spring.
Jared Triolo and Rowdy Tellez also picked up hits for the Pirates in the game.
Chase Anderson got his first start of the spring and pitched three innings where he didn’t allow a hit or walk and struck out a batter.
Josh Fleming pitched two innings and didn’t allow a hit or walk, picking up a strikeout.
The Pirates pitching staff held the Braves offense to just two hits and one run in the game. Kyle Nicolas pitched an inning and walked two while also striking out two.
Pittsburgh will head to Dunedin to face the Blue Jays tomorrow, with Roansy Contreras on the mound.

It was announced on Tuesday that right-handed pitcher Khristian Curtis was added to the Pirates Spring Breakout roster.
Curtis was the Pirates' 12th-round pick in 2023 out of Arizona State. He was given an over-slot bonus of $497,500.
Right-handed pitcher Thomas Harrington was removed from the roster to make space for Curtis. There hasn’t been any update as to why the change was made.
