The Pittsburgh Pirates announced staff assignments at each minor league affiliate for the upcoming 2025 season on Friday. This link goes further in-depth on each position at every minor league affiliate, but here are the main notes:

Triple-A Indianapolis:

Manager: Chris Truby
Hitting Coach: Eric Munson
Pitching Coach: Drew Benes
Pitching Coach: Cibney Bello
Bench Coach: Eric Patterson
Bullpen: Joe Thatcher

Double-A Altoona

Manager: Andy Fox
Hitting Coach: Scott Seabol
Hitting Coach: Casey Harms
Pitching Coach: Matt Ford

High-A Greensboro

Manager: Blake Butler

Some additional notes:

Matt Ford moves up from Bradenton to Altoona this year. I talked to Khristian Curtis and Michael Kennedy last year, and both brought Ford up and the work they did with them.

Fernando Nieve goes from the Double-A pitching coach to the ‘Complex Pitching Lead.’

Former Pirates’ Director of International Scouting Junior Vizcaino was hired by the Los Angeles Angels as an international and amateur scout.

It was first reported by Francys Romero on Twitter, and Vizcaino held that role with the Pirates from 2017-2024.
