Lonnie White, Jr is trying to make up time that was not spent improving his baseball skills in his teens. But, he has natural power, foot speed, 6 Assists in the OF (so a strong and accurate arm), and the fact he will play all of 2025 as a 22 year old. Hopefully we will see him start to take control of the batters box this year.

Luke Scherrer had a good first year and will play all of 2025 as a 21 year old and has to go up against LH hitting Omar Alfonzo and RH hitting Axial Plaz ahead of him, and all of them play 1B also. The .406 OBP was impressive, but he has to start hitting for some HR power.

Carlos Castillo turned 19 a few days ago and put up some good numbers last year as an 18 year old in the FCL. Before coming to the states, he posted an ERA of 1.70 in 37 IP in the DSL with 40 K and only 15 BB. He's got a lot going for himself - is he still 6'1" 165? That's what he was listed at as a 17 year old in 2023. Gotta like his chances!

Duce Gourson is heading into his age 23 season with only 35 AB at Bradenton in 2024. If he stays at Bradenton, he will be behind YDLS, Severino, and Caro, all of whom are going into their age 20 seasons. With the quality of MI's in the system already, it is hard for me to think he can be considered a prospect with the Pirates at this point.

Only plus if he reaches his incentives. Do you think Bob will let him do that? :)

Insane. Ben Cherington is a joke. Negative WAR player last year turning 37. Who was he bidding against? Why not offer half of that, or nothing at all? Tommy Pham 5 years after he was interesting.

Especially when Grichuk just signed for one mil more than they paid negative WAR Tommy Pham. Maybe if he goes apeshit and starts punching various Cubs it’ll be partially worth it from an entertainment perspective, but as a baseball move I don’t see it.
