Great award for Paul Skenes, the Skenes Family, the Pirates Organization, and the loyal fans of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Watching the Interview with him immediately after the announcement, I wondered how anybody else even had a chance. Dressed like an executive with the fireplace burning in the background, and fellow LSU Athlete, and NIL Champion Livvy Dunne front and center.
I thought that sometime throughout all of this he would have identified a Pirate Pitching Coach, Catcher, etc. who may have helped him develop and adjust to MLB so quickly.
