When I saw Janek in the bridge league, he wasn’t catching. Can’t remember whether it was OF or 2B.

They announced him as a Catcher and I've seen some Illinois games where he was catching and have also seen some Cape highlights where he was catching.

I think he'll stick behind the plate but he does have a below average arm and is athletic enough to play a corner OF or even some 2B.

It would be very surprising if he wasn't at least given a chance to catch though. They might move him around some too but imo it will be catching first.

Gonna be a crowded field. They have Ramirez, Scherrer, Berg, Plaz and Janik. Plaz has caught very little and I doubt they're going to want to send him to Greensboro, and Berg was overmatched at the plate at Bradenton. So that's a lot of guys for there. It's easy to say, Oh, just send some of them back to the FCL, but catching 20-30 R-level games isn't going to lead to much progress. And a 23-year-old in R ball isn't going to be a prospect.

The John Lopez kid should get some catching reps in the FCL or Bradenton too.

Yep, should be interesting. You gotta move Escudero up as well. He cab’t be in the DSL any longer.

Patrick was also considered the top Horizon League prospect to start the season by D1 Baseball.

I am Groot.

Can't wait to see a "Come back, Shane!" meme on a minor league scoreboard..,

Like the idea of Janik... always been a fan of the "tough out" type of guy.
