I bet Planchart sees some MLB time b4 his career is over. Even though, it will probably be for another team and on his next MiLB contract.
He’s 23 and should be a back-up in AA next season. Even if it takes him till he’s 25/26/27 years old to be a AAA backup, I could see him being a 4th/5th catcher to a MLB roster as defensively minded AAA backup for some years and get the call when injuries arise.
Catchers like Delay/Koch/Michael Perez and even like an Ali Sanchez have followed that same route. I mean, Tyler Heineman is still floating around as 4th catcher.
I could easily see him being an AAA backup and get a call as a emergency Catcher at some point.
Man, that Taillon return was pretty brutal. I had high hopes for Ro early on and to a lesser degree, CSN. At least Musgrove netted Bednar, but the higher rated prospects in both trades did nothing.
I wanted Jake Irvin in the Josh Bell trade too. I was screaming for Irvin as he was one of my favorites in the 2018 draft and Pipeline had him ranked in the 20s(for the Nats) at that time I believe.
I’m glad to see him doing well this year and always thought he was gonna be a good MLB 5th SP. He would be a great trade chip for the Pirates right now with teams scrambling for innings.
if Termarr can’t play 2nd.. where can he play?

Thanks, WTM! This was an awesome read.

This rebuild looks a lot different if they get Gil instead of Ro and Co. Oh and if they got Corbin Carroll as opposed to Peguro.
