John: It was reported on MiLB.com and the transaction page for the Pittsburgh Pirates that they signed 19-year-old outfielder Camden Sanders.
I have learned that the player signed by the Pirates is actually 28-year-old pitcher Cam Sanders, who has been in the Chicago Cubs organization since 2018. Sanders topped out at Triple-A for the last three seasons.
He split the 2024 season between Triple-A and Double-A, combining to go 2-3, 5.83 over 54 innings, with 77 strikeouts, a 1.80 WHIP, and six saves. He had a 5.15 ERA, a 1.69 WHIP, and 97 strikeouts over 64.2 innings during the 2023 season at Triple-A
