Are we ever gonna see Wei-Chieh Huang or are they just gonna keep signing him to MiLB deals and keep him on the 60 day DL all season?
Not that I’m expecting much and they probably use him out of the pen now with the injury history but it’s at least a multi inning bullpen piece. Kind of in the Osvaldo Bido mold. Good K numbers like Bido too. But more of a FB/CH guy than the FB/SL Bido.
I think they should trade one of these guys in the off-season for a bat. I also would love them to add Pederson this off-season. Was calling for him to be signed this off-season too. His swing would work so well in PNC.
I wonder if ovideo/ortiz might be used as possible trade chip this offseason in looking for a bat. Could also be one of the prospects, depends on internal evals of everyone and who we would target probably. Harrington as a top prospect 100 across all lists soon wouldnt surprise me
Prolly like Ortiz was used only because he is coming off of TJ surgery. If all goes well by mid season they can bounce several guys, from the rotation to give a bit of rest without IL moves if they have no options to use.
I agree on August 3, but if he/they can figure out what has happened post All Star break then he is a no doubt keeper for next year. He was their best end of game pitcher of the three for at least 2 months or more and I don't think it was smoke and mirrors. Relief pitchers are so hard to predict, so I have not lost one term hope in him but agree with most they need to adjust his usage right now. Heck, it wasn't long ago everybody wanted Chappy shipped out.
Feel like some of the young arms to fill even middle relief, lower leverage innings to be the bridge and keep games relatively close could be a smart way to manage workload down the stretch

Some Wei-Chieh Huang porn.

FG ranking of all prospects traded at deadline:
10 - Yorke
35 - Shim
45 - Reilly
47 - Peralta
70 - McAdoo
71 - Forrester
73 - Ronaldys Jimenez (return for Perez, says he gets up to 95)
74 - Nicolas Carreno (DSL guy traded for Walker)
77 - Cook (obviously not too impressed)
I was thinking cook might be sneaky good based off what ive read, hopefully they are way off
His walks and strikeouts are going in the right direction as he's advanced, that's good.
2025 SP depth with no additions:
MLB
1. Skenes
2. Keller
3. Jones
4. Falter
5. Ortiz
AAA
1. Chandler
2. Harrington
3. Ashcraft
4. Burrows
Pretty good start!

No Shortridge love?? The audacity!

I’m starting to see stuff comparing Ashcraft favorably to Bubba. Sure hope he’s back soon.
He may just be one of those guys who tantalizes when healthy, but that’s only for like 2-3 months a season.
Sounds like a Glasnow in that he is awsome when healthy but keeps bouncing on and off the ILlist.
Oviedo will be in the mix as wel @
knew i was forgetting someone! Wonder if he plays the Ortiz role as long man / spot starter or if he’ll be ready for a starters workload

somebody needs to replace Holderman...

Nevermind, should've read the morning rundown first
Bubba got promoted?
In addition to all of the above, at some point, hopefully soon, Jones will be there rehabbing.
I'm really hoping they can get some bullpen help from a couple of these guys. We're seeing now, this bullpen just isn't up to it.
