Surprise pick relative to how much I perceived he's been discussed. Conversely, I thought for sure there'd be more Cheng support.
I'm weary of dudes with pop-up stuff after Quinn and Roansy and Luis but holy smokes did Ashcraft come back with an extra gear. Well ahead of Anthony Solometo in terms of pure stuff, quite frankly.
Lonnie was so physically dominant over low-A comp that I can't pull the trigger quite yet. Anything close to that kind of performance in GBO, tho, and I'm all in.
BC better not expose Ashcraft to the Rule 5 draft just to keep some easily replaceable AAAA Pitcher who has had a wee bit of MLB success on the 40-man roster.
So if Ashcraft gets placed on the 40, who gets the boot.
Moreover for the BOD staff... Lets have some fun and project what the 40 man looks like at the beginning of spring training '24. Assume maybe that 2 or 3 pitchers are signed from somewhere.
You feel like Palacios sticks. What about the glut of middle infielders?
Off top of my head, I think Kranick gets removed, and I don't think Marcano makes it through off-season. The glut of versatile MI's and his length of recovery, I can't see them hanging on.
After that, Hatch and Bido are likely casualties. Capra and Rivas. Palacios might be safe, and CSN may depend on their admiration of Andujar.
I like that you guys are all divided in your opinions of breakout player. So, is it that you all had three votes and aggregated the scoring to name the player?
Who was second?
Who was third?
I like that the system has a lot of interesting prospects. I get a sense that perhaps because of a lot of pitching injury and other setbacks in recent years, the system seems maybe deeper now, leaving out the outlier of Paul Skenes, even, if you follow me.
Interested in the group's opinion of whether or not there are more average MLB type prospects than in recent years.
Hope that Ashcraft gets to a 100 innings next year, maybe even 120!
Hell yeah!

Is Cutch still a value?
So much to think about.

Everyone sent me their top 3, and did an old school points based system. Since I was writing up about the winner, I just included my top 3 in general.
