You rang? I haven't been writing here, so they didn't include me in their voting. I'm a little past the middle of writing a book, then I'll either get back into the prospect stuff or just write another book...or both. Maybe a book about prospects?
I think he'll begin in Double-A by virtue of there won't be space in Triple-A. At least one of Quinn, Ortiz, and Ro should begin in Indy, and possibly two of the three. Then there's Jared Jones, presumably Ashcraft, and always a handful of veteran guys. There's Jackson Wolf who could be in Indy, and even Bailey Falter.
I think the thing that is forgotten about Contreras in 2021 is that he was already on the 40 man roster, so it really wasn’t anything to promote him anyways. Jones isn’t, so there isn’t any rush. I would imagine the route would be similar for Solometo
I’m skeptical about Solo, it comes down to his arsenal for me or lack of it. He needs a good change up or he will struggle in the highest level of pro ball.
Same here. To take nothing away from his impressive performance at all, I'm still not sure there's a plus pitch in his arsenal. More high floor than high ceiling, 2-3 WAR peak which is still of course perfectly useful.
For me, when he’s shown it, it has actually looked good. Sometimes it feels like it’s more of a lack of confidence throwing it than anything. Which to a point makes sense being hesitant throwing your distant third pitch in AA as a 20 year old.
Dreker?

Back to AA next year? Wonder if he's got a shot at the Bigs ala Contreras or if he'll have a Jared Jones type year split evenly between AA & AAA

Won't be Contreras, who's out of options, at least he should be. It's technically close.
didn’t know that. could be problematic for the buccos and Contreras if he doesn’t get right in the offseason

We will see though.
