Probably start him at third. Pirates still (as of when he played last) really liked him at third and thought he could work things out. I guess we will see though.
That only makes sense up to a point. Look at the expectations for the two coming into the year. Considering some of the ludicrous expectations regarding Termarr, it feels like he would have had to hit .330 to reach what people wanted. Brannigan certainly exceeded expectations and we feel better about them, but they were fairly low to begin with.
The expectation was that Termarr had an elite hit tool. Instead, he had serious trouble with swinging through pitches in the strike zone. You didn't have to expect him to hit .330 to be concerned about that.
You can be concerned about it and still recognize that it’s a young for his level bat reached high A at 19, hit 18 homers, showed pretty damn good strike zone judgment, got better as he went on, etc. I’m not saying he’s without warts, but he didn’t have a Dru Jones/Elijah Green type year either.
I contemplated it for a moment based off his age compared to competition, but, especially after comparing stats side-by-side, Brannigan had quite a year.
Termarr is a defensible choice given the power and patience he showed, but I’d still go with Jack. For all the kvetching about Termarr’s K rate, Jack is even worse.
Not sure why everyone thinks JB should have been a pitcher given his 7 ERA and 5.4 BB / 9 IP in college

And why not this guy who was a stud at a higher level
3 ERA and near All American

Good day for this to come out too. Brannigan named a sleeper to watch in the AFL by Baseball America.
Andujar! I love it!!
Brann...
Again!!!!
The Altoona lineup of starting pitching and potentially position players for next year is starting to get interesting.
SP 1 Skenes SP 2 Solometo SP 3 Bubba
SP 4 Harrington SP 5 Ashcraft
3rd Brannigan SS Cheng 2nd Johnson 1st Lopez
Outfield TreyG, Bowen, Head ??
starting pitching, sure.
I put in a potential because I have no clue who they'll have there lol
McAdoo?
I want him to hit in Greensboro before Altoona, but he's definitely a possibility as is Jebb and even White if they come out hitting next year.
Brannigan moving up to be a top five prospect in our system?
(1) Skenes
(2) Termarr
(3) Bubba
(4) Brannigan
(5) Lonnie

Thought this was a fun time to bring them back. Will be doing more in the offseason, and going into next year.
Altoona's infield should be fun next year with Brannigan, Termarr, Cheng, Lopez(?) & Bowen making the occasional appearance at 1st
I'm so excited for Dariel Lopez to come back
Do you think he'll be at 3rd and 1st next year.

Some pretty promissing hitters here.
Wow! Didn't see that one coming fellas, inspired choice.
While it was hard to pick some of these, I did like this better than last year when it was just 'Endy Rodriguez' and not even a debate.
That’s a good discussion if there are several candidates.
BA made the empty-headed choice of Termarr as POY. Makes no sense from a performance or a realizing-potential standpoint.
I think you meant pot-headed.
Empty headed. Jesus you’re a jerk.
Those too often become best prospect awards and not best player awards, right on.
One key question, among others, should be, Do you feel better about the player than you did a year ago? For Brannigan? Yes. Termarr? No.
