after a slow start, I think the system has rebounded a bit. plenty of interesting players go follow in the lower minors. even some hitters! gasp!

A good exercise to see how things are progressing is to look at our top 30 and see how many guys you think should move up, keeping in mind that we voted on that 2-3 weeks before it went up. Things are more volatile in-season than usual because more guys are making the case that, yeah, they’re for real. Esmerlyn is a perfect example.

That list was a totally different exercise from the usual. You don’t want to change on a guy because of a good week, but there are guys we thought had ability where it’s showing up on the field. Last year was just this dreary, “Can anybody here hit a baseball?”

And, obviously, KG and Florentino are huge additions.
