Got to say that the money spent on the international players seems to be a waste, especially the high bonus players. Whether is developing or scouting the lack of success is concerning.
You don't want to overreact to 50 plate appearances, but the 38% k rate, and a 0% walk rate for Cook makes me a little nervous. Not consistent with his minor league numbers, but those are extreme.
Yea based on when Yorke and Cook were called up I told myself that I wouldn’t buy too much into any numbers they put up, good or bad but the strikeout and walk rate aren’t ideal
Cook struggles with pitches at the top of the zone and on the outside edge. Major league pitchers pounded those areas, in his last twenty or so at bats he started making more contact in those areas (still chased away and low too much). I'm cautiously optimistic he can adjust enough to be a solid 4th outfielder. If he can get the k rate down to 25% and walk rate over 8% he might be able to be a regular with his defense.
Upper level outfielders has to be a focus for the front office. I just don't believe they'll pony up in free agency. The only way to get an impact player anytime soon is by trade.
Correct. We only need countless shortstops (or catchers) to convert to outfielders at AAA or the major league level. Which of course detracts from the development of their hitting, and also provides poor outfield defense from inexperienced players.

I would target Colorado's Veen and Carigg,
Cleveland's Brito and Watson.
Outfielders?? We don’t need no stinkin’ outfielders!!
