This is admitted nit-picking but I disagree with you choosing Griffin over Johnson as the top infield prospect. To me Johnson WAS Griffin several years ago admittedly with different strengths / weaknesses and I guess I feel he may just be getting the shiny new toy treatment. Termarr has mostly made it to the prove it level (AA) on or ahead of schedule without any major issues while Griffin really hasn't started. One final point: Termarr's weakness to me was his fielding while Griffins' is his hit tool. While I don't think Termarr has necessarily squashed that concern, I CAN find a place for a hitter who is not a dynamic fielder, but it is much harder to find a place for a player who can not hit. So until Griffin dis-spells those hitting concerns some I'll vote Termarr as the top prospect as they both can have high ceilings IMO.
Is Griffin ticketed to start at short? I could have sworn some outlets projected him for the OF, but I don’t remember if that was more their opinion where he’s better suited.
Yep, IKF really lit it up after the trade with 13.7 Strikeouts for every ONE Walk. And we want to pay him $7.5 mil in 2025? A team wins with strong management and players who actually want to play for this team - his K/BB ratio, and his OPS with the Blue Jays of .758 as opposed to his .587 OPS for the Pirates should be enough for an intelligent GM to not make that same mistake again in 2025.
Liover Peguero should be named the starting SS going into 2025 and if other teams want to make an offer for IKF, that will be just fine. Too many years of MLB experience to play the way he did for the Pirates after the trade. Guys like that become a cancer in the clubhouse instead of providing the leadership BC thought he was going to get.
Yep, had a hamate in '23 and another wrist or thumb injury in '24. He looks much better swinging this fall. I'm not sure the Nats would go for it, but they're lacking right hand hitting middle infielders, while the pirates need some outfielders.
I follow the Nats pretty closely having lived in DC until very recently. They have no need for Peguero, except possibly as a back-up infielder up the middle to Abrams and Garcia, each of whom had excellent seasons. Not to mention that they are both young. Hassell doesn’t have much value anymore, it’s true, but I can’t see them going after Peguero.
The Nats middle infielders are pretty much all lefty or switch hitters that hit worse against left handed pitching with the exception of Abrams. Only reason I think they would maybe go for the trade.

He gets good reports at short and in the outfield with his speed, athleticism, and arm strength.
Maybe it's just the fluidity with which they assign positions now but is there any slam-dunk SS in the system other than Wyatt Sanford?
Who, btw, I'm pretty stoked to see next year.
Well, Cheng. That's if you mean slam-dunk to stay at SS defensively, as opposed to having good odds to become a starting ML SS.
Hope he can hit his way to Bradenton.
All Pitching and no hitting. We need Henry Davis and Jack S to be 2 war players to help out with the offense
Did I miss the Peguero trade? Or is he not considered a prospect or MLB player anymore?
I personally think Peguero should be a candidate to be starting SS next year.
He technically graduated as a prospect. Think he’ll get a shot but money speaks so I’d imagine IKF has the inside track

And, not too thrilled with BDLC either.
I'd target the Nats, Peguero for Hassell in a change of scenery trade.
The power outage with him is concerning. He hasn’t slugged higher than .370 since 2022.

We need outfielders particularly of the left handed variety.
Hassell is 2 for 2 today with a double and a triple. So far

I’m not sure Peguro can hit enough to be a caddy for the lefties.
He had an .871 ops against lefties in Indy this past year, I think.
