I am very excited for what nicolas could be for our pen next year

Outside of Nicolas none of these guys seems to scream - I have conquered AAA (and I will be added to the 40 man anyway) and deserve a shot at an end of season test. I keep dreaming on Gorski - power hitting, plus fielding center fielder - but just can't see the bat surviving and worth playing in it's current state. I know the Suwinski comparison could be made and I admittedly struggle with how to evaluate Suwinski, but to me Jack has more power and gets on base a LOT more. Gorski's only (IMO) edge on Jack is a plus glove in center but Jack is not terrible there. Are they a maddening platoon who hit 8th in the order assuming some other bats are added/mature?

I’m not sure Jack should be batting 8th with his power and ability to get on base.

Yea, I probably pushed him too low, however with his significant hot/cold streaks, I also don't want to plug him too high in an order if I am imagining a playoff level roster. Right now, yes he can be higher, but I am dreaming bigger.

I'd say that Gorski has more raw power than Suwinski too. If all things are equal contact wise, the power projection is way in Gorski's favor.

Gorski is the better fielder and has more power than Suwinski? Contact wise? Is it possible that Gorski has worse contact skills than Suwinski?

The fact there has been zero attempts to adjust his swing mechanics is crazy to me. Or I guess they may have and just didn't stick. I have no clue how he drives the ball the way he does but the power is that legit.

I would say it’s far more likely they’ve tried and it hasn’t stuck.

Nicolas seems like the most likely. Jones due to his Rule 5 status seems unlikely. I think he will just be added to the 40-man when he is ready next year. Gorski is definitely a fringe mention. Could go either way. Take a look in meaningless games and see him up close against big league pitching can't hurt. If you don't like the results/look, cut him.

Martin is a no. He has a .529 OPS as a part-time player over the last month. They moved on from him when they placed him in Altoona to start the year. He will go somewhere else in 2024 and they will try to make adjustments to cut down on the strikeouts while maintaining the power. His 34.4% strikeout rate while being demoted for most of the year is why he's playing three times a week now. Luckily for him, age is still on his side.

I'm in no rush to get Jones up. The box score has looked nice the last two times out but the fact he's becoming a two-pitch guy worries me a bit.

Even out the bullpen the control worries me for Nicolas. Is he really just Colin Selby with better stuff? Does he have better stuff than Selby.

Gorski I'm intrigued in solely because of him being maybe the only natural center fielder in the upper levels, outside maybe Jase Bowen, and I even feel Jase would be better at the corner.

Same thing happened with Ortiz becoming just a two-pitch guy. If both pitches are on, you can get by some of the time, but if one pitch is off that day, you're not going to last long at the big league level. There's no reason to rush him. Bring him up when he's ready. You add him to the 40-man now and you might be forced to use him early next year if some injuries creep up early like they did the last two years
