Sorry I missed this yesterday. The FCL is absolutely loaded and I would not hesitate to promote both Jhonny Severino and YDLS. Severino did not get his feet on the ground with the Pirates in '23 due to being part of the trade from Milwaukee at the deadline for Santana. A glance at the '24 stats in the FCL show that Severino leads the FCL with 10 HR, and is 3rd overall in OPS. YDLS is probably also in the Top 10 for OPS, but not sure about HR's. Also between the two, Severino also has the better BB/K rate. However, unlike most Pirate prospects he hits a lot better than he fields, and he should be a perfect candidate for a lot of intense fielding instruction at A and after the season ends if he stays in the IF. He has footspeed and a strong arm - could he be a candidate for CF?
You indicated that Rivas should be promoted - I would disagree. He is a gifted fielder at both SS and 3B, but his bat has lagged at the A level. He has cut down on his K's, but only from 39% in '23 to now 31.7% in '24, and it is not because he is a power hitter in game play. None of that gives me a warm and fuzzy that he will be able to hit better at A+. That said, he will turn 22 on Sep 1, and both Severino and YDLS are legit 19 year olds, and both hit much better than Rivas at this point. Time to fish or cut bait!
I’d promote Matoma(when healthy) and Severino from the complex to Bradenton
(Bradenton could use help at 3B).
From Bradenton, I’d promote Forrester(when healthy), Landon Tomkins(when healthy) and Mike Walsh(like you wrote). Also, if Terrero gets even a little bit hot, I’d promote him.
Form Greensboro’s I’d promote, Cimillo, Barco, Perachi, Neilson and Hilson(Altoona is in desperate need of a backup RHH OF).
From Altoona, I’d promote Sean Sullivan(when healthy).
I would also like to see Isaias Dipre and Cristian Jauregui stateside in the complex.
Things don’t seem to be going well for Brennan Malone. Came in to pitch the 2nd and his command was erratic. Got one visit from the C and one from the coach, then left after four batters, two on two out.
Malone has missed so much development time, not sure he'll ever amount to anything but I'm still pulling for this kid. Hopefully he's still shaking off years of rust

He’s done. Don’t stick an actual fork in him though, cause he’ll miss another two years.
😂
And the delayed double steal works. No team in the Pirates’ org ever successfully defends that play. Not ever.
