Playoff Gameday: Divisional Series' kicks off with four games on Saturday
All four series of the divisional series kicks off today
After a Wild Card round that saw just one series go all three games, the Divisional Series could provide some closer matchups. Three series will feature divisional opponents, so the teams will be familiar with each other.
The Divisional Series will shift to being the best of five. Here’s a look at the opening matchups:
Game 1: Detroit Tigers vs Cleveland Guardians, 1:08 pm ET
Series Tied 0-0
After sweeping the Houston Astros, the Tigers will face another AL Central team, the Guardians. Cleveland narrowly defeated the Tigers during the regular season, winning seven of the 13 games they played.

Game 2: New York Mets vs Philadelphia Phillies, 4:08 pm ET

The Mets scored four runs in the top of the ninth to come from behind to defeat the Brewers in the Wild Card round. They now face the Phillies, who they lost the season series to (6-7).

Game 3: Kansas City Royals vs New York Yankees, 6:38 pm ET
Series Tied 0-0
The Royals defeated the Orioles in the Wild Card round and now face another AL East team, the New York Yankees—who led the AL in wins this season. Five of those wins came against the Royals (out of seven total).

Game 4: San Diego Padres vs Los Angeles Dodgers, 8:38 pm ET
Series Tied 0-0
The Padres defeated the Braves in the Wild Card round, and they now face the Dodgers, who led all of baseball in wins. San Diego won the season series 8-5, with the two teams meeting in South Korea to start the season.
