The Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees look to clinch their respective series and punch their tickets to the ALCS on Thursday.
After the bullpen pitched a collective shutout on Wednesday, the Tigers can wrap their series up with the Cleveland Guardians today. Six pitchers combined to hold Cleveland to just six hits on the night, and three players drove in runs for the offense.
Giancarlo Stanton opened up the scoring in the fourth inning and broke the tie with a home run later. His three hits represented 75% of the Yankees total, but they were able to scrap together offense when it was needed.
They now get Gerrit Cole on the mound with a chance to clinch the series.

There's video of the triple at the Pirates' site. Went oppo for it. Maybe a good trend developing.
