One of the Top 50 hitters in all of Major League Baseball last year with at least 500 PA. Only once has he posted an expected wOBA below .340 in the 8 seasons since his 2015 peak. Incredible consistency as an above average bat into his mid-30s.

Love this mfr.

And, the enjoyment he shows at being back as a part of the Pirates was, IMO, a key to the improvement of the club in 2023. Just his leadership and presence in the clubhouse made it all worthwhile.

Traded to SFG in Jan 2018 and a little more than 7 months later the Pirates traded for Chris Archer.

Hard to believe this will be Cutch's 11th season with the Pirates.

Swaggerty off to become an Allstar with the dodgers

If only we had someone who could play centerfield like him...

Hopefully he is healthy again. Still was having issues all last season. Only got into 22 games in the Pirates system and none with the ChiSox after they signed him after the Bucs released him.

Not so much his health, as his family has been through the ringer. I still can’t believe this regime decided in releasing him... unless it was a move for his family.

His wife’s health was on top of his. He was still having vertigo issues and I remember reading that he said day games were ok but would have vertigo issues when he tried playing under the lights. The Bucs stuck with him for several seasons. I can’t really blame them for DFAing him. It very much may have been his decision to get released and try to start fresh elsewhere if his health improved.

It’s a cruel business. No room on 40-man for sentimentality. Hoping he gets a shot with any MLB team, even the Dodgers.

I just find it hard to believe the Pirates don’t have a spot for him. The guy is a major league defender in center, just need to see if he can stay on the field and hit.

His vertigo issues were still with him. Only was able to play in 22 games, mostly day games . Not like he was healthy and they still tossed him aside. They needed a 40 man spot and he may well have asked for a release so he could look for a fresh start if a when he is able to play. The ChiSox signed him but he never played a game for them and they released him.

That ship has sailed. Time to move on.

Yea, the Pirates have sooo many players capable of being above average centerfielders in their farm system.

There’s some smoke out there about teams asking the stros about Framber. Haven’t heard his name tossed around much with the pirates, but I think I like him better than the other potential trade targets. I wonder what it would take?

Ken Rosenthal and Bob Nightengale

That is a really weird thing to do honestly. Pirates need more control than what he will give us I think.

Wouldn't that shock the baseball world if the Pirates got Framber from the Stros.

In case anybody cares, the Pirates sent Roddery Munoz, who was dfa’d the other day, to Mia for cash. Still need to clear two roster spots.
