Overview
Evans is a prep lefty with a fastball that already gets as high as 95 mph and, given his frame, projects to add velocity. It has a lot of life and misses bats up in the zone. He adds a slider and change, both of which have potential but need improvement. His command needs to improve, as he can have trouble throwing strikes. Baseball America ranked him 365th in the draft pool and MLB Pipeline 195th. The Pirates had to go above slot to sign him away from an LSU commitment.
