Spring training gameday 2: Pirates play first game at LECOM, Mitch Keller to start
Mitch Keller vs David Festa
The Pittsburgh Pirates open up their home spring training schedule with a game against the Minnesota Twins on Sunday.
They will look to build off their opener on Saturday, where they defeated the Baltimore Orioles 10-5 behind a pair of home runs from Matt Gorski and another by DJ Stewart.
Eight pitchers combined in the winning effort, including Carmen Mlodzinski starting and tossing a pair of innings. It turns out that Mlodzinski will get a chance to build up as a starter this spring.
That would create an opportunity to fill a Luis Ortiz-type role this upcoming season.
Mitch Keller will get the start for the Pirates and will be opposed by David Festa of the Twins. First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 PM ET.
