The Pirates dropped their actual Spring Training game on Thursday to the Orioles but got payback later that day in the Spring Breakout contest.
Paul Skenes led the Pirates, pitching in a one-hit shutout of the Orioles hitting prospects, which featured Jackson Holliday.
Hunter Barco, Bubba Chandler, and Braxton Ashcraft were among the notable pitching to throw in the game. Termarr Johnson, Lonnie White Jr., Tony Blanco Jr., and Jase Bowen (x2) all picked up hits for the Pirates.
Mitch Jebb and Jack Brannigan each had a sacrifice fly to drive in runs.
Back in the first game of the day, Billy McKinney extended his Spring on-base streak to 13 after being a late entry into the lineup after Andrew McCutchen was scratched.
Quinn Priester will get the start for the Pirates against the Yankees, with a start time around 6:35 pm ET.

Yesterday’s Feature
Thursday is MLB draft day, where we feature some of the players who will be available. Yesterday, I talked about Jac Caglianone after getting a chance to sit down and watch him pitch.

Hudson Head has a nice swing.
