Spring Training Gameday 26: Bailey Falter on the mound as Pirates look to rebound
After losing 12-0 to the Yankees, the Pirates look to bounce back against the Blue Jays.
On Wednesday, Giancarlo Stanton had one fewer home run (3) than the Pirates had hits (4) as a team, as the Yankees won 12-0.
Marco Gonzales’ rough Spring continued, allowing nine earned runs in 3.2 innings pitched.
Fighting for a rotation spot, Quinn Priester couldn’t follow up his last solid outing, allowing three earned runs in three innings pitched. He walked a pair and struggled to locate his pitches.
They head back to Bradenton on Thursday for another night game against an AL East team - the Toronto Blue Jays.
Bailey Falter is expected to be the Pirates' starter, and Blue Jays' top pitching prospect Ricky Tiedemann will get the nod.
First pitch is expected at 6:05 pm ET.
