The Pittsburgh Pirates allowed two late runs, costing them their final spring matchup with the Boston Red Sox. They have three games left this spring before starting the regular season against the Miami Marlins.
Mitch Keller was fantastic in his final spring tune-up, allowing a hit while striking out five in three innings pitched. David Bednar, Dennis Santana, and Caleb Ferguson also pitched shutout innings.
Wilkin Ramos allowed the first two runs of spring and was eventually tagged with the loss. Will Taylor drove in the only run for the Pirates with an RBI single.
Saturday, the Pirates will host the Baltimore Orioles, the last game at LECOM Park this spring. They will then have two games, both on the road.
