Bubba gets a called third strike on a breaking pitch to end an inning. Greg Brown screams: Bubbalicious! Book it.

FWIW, the last time I was this excited about a prospect not named Skenes was Ke’Bryan Hayes. 😳

The Pirates are trying to build a winner with our draft picks, our IFA's, and a small amount of trades using some of those draft picks/IFA's - Patrick Reilly to get Billy Cook, Quinn Priester to get Nick Yorke, and Luis Ortiz, Michael Kennedy, and Josh Hartle to get Spencer Horwitz. All of those trades were excellent. I also thought the Charles McAdoo trade to get IKF was a VG exchange, but IKF decided not to show us the tools we thought we were buying. Hopefully his head is in the game in 2025.

Further, Bubba Chandler, 2021 3rd Round Pick, and Thomas Harrington, 2022 CB A Pick are ready to join a Rotation that already includes Paul Skenes, 2023 1st Round Pick, Jared Jones, 2020 Second Round Pick, and Mitch Keller, 2014 2nd Round Pick. LHSP Bailey Falter came in the trade the Pirates made with Philly which sent Rodolfo Castro to the Phils. Big win for BC!

The offense needs help and I think we will see even more help from the 2022 Draft that gave us Thomas Harrington. First Rounder Termarr Johnson is already at AA where he will play half the season as a 20 year old. Two others I am looking forward to are 3rd Round Pick Jack Brannigan, who could join TJ in AA as the other half of the MI, and 2nd Round Pick LHSP Hunter Barco. Further down the list of the 2022 Draft are Round 6 Pick RHSP/RP Derek Diamond, Round 7 Pick RHP JP Massey, and Round 11 Pick LHSP/RP Dominic Perachi.

If the Pirates can find a MOTO bat, we have the Players to make available.

we have a left handed starting pitcher factory here in Pittsburgh

need to cash out on Falter

Not going to happen, nor should it.

If they’re going to trade another SP, they should trade someone who’s more valuable than Falter. Falter won’t bring back a difference maker.

Kiner-Falefa had a 3.2 war in 83 games with the Blue Jays and a .4 war in 50 games with the Pirates. His ops with the Blue Jays was .758 compared to .587 with the Pirates. Also worth noting is missed over a month between his time in Toronto and Pittsburgh with a knee injury.

I think most would agree, his expected performance will be somewhere between the two sets of results he had last year.

He has a great work ethic, attitude and wants to win. If he has a good year, I can see those qualities raising other players performance as well.

I thought so too when the trade was made - how does a guy with his career stats come in and post 41 K/3 BB in 208 AB? In his career he's less than a 3/1 K/BB player; with the Pirates he was 13/1. I guess we'll see what IKF we have in ST.

I'm going to go with the standard most over-used excuse that works every time. He needed another spring training or more at-bats after missing 5 weeks. He couldn't find his timing. He was trying to do too much.

I do hope one of those excuses fits. We need him to be a leader

If he could split that and provide ~2 WAR at SS for us, I would be ecstatic

Long term short stop position is still up for grabs if he were to ever change his mind
