A lot of talent finishing the year at A this year and will start the season there next year - should be a great year for the Bradenton Fans. Combined with the MI depth at the MLB level, and AAA, there is no need to rush guys like Jhonny Severino and YDLS. The Pirates have been juggling multiple MI's between AAA and MLB - somewhere over this off-season or in 2025, they will have to commit to the guys they want to keep and unload all of the others - hopefully for something decent in return.
Termarr Johnson at A+ just turned 20 in June, and Severino and YDLS are just in their age 19 seasons this year. That is our future in the MI. Cruz is still in his age 25 season, and BC needs to decide what he wants at 2B for the next 2 or 3 years. I favor Peguero - still young at 23, and is the best defensive SS/2B in our org. Struggling more than expected at the plate in AAA, but fielding .963 at SS in 523 innings and .992 at 2B in 293 innings.
More draftees assigned to Bradenton:
OF Will Taylor (5th)
LHP Connor Wietgrefe (7th)
OFs Solomon Maguire and Miguel Sosa, IF Jeral Toledo reassigned to FCL
Taylor gets to dh tonight.
Mueth so far ( thru 2) looking better than his first two starts (nojinx nojinx). Needs to get ahead more, though.
Mueth ran into trouble in the 3rd, ended up throwing over 70 pitches to go 3.
Wietgrefe threw one inning, struck out the side. One runner, on a dropped popup that was incorrectly scored a double.
