In a SSS, Griffin is walking more in high-A. My theory that he just found low-A pitching too yummy might even be true.

Any word on whether they have Bubba adding a true 2-seamer a la Skenes? A change with that much velo and more spin sounds a lot like a 2seamer that statcast is misclassifying.

Adding Wilber Dotel to my Antwone Kelley list of priority reliever dev candidates.

I had thought that, but it looks like it's still just a change-up. I don't think it would hurt having a two-seam, but not sure it's something that Bubba really needs at this point.

Yeah, I think Kelly and Dotel probably head to the bullpen at some point, but wouldn't mind keeping them where they are at just in case another one of the pitching prospects kind of flame out

If we had any “urgency,” D & K could both be bullpen candidates by next year, assuming the performance held up.

If they develop the way we hope, BC will trade each of them for a washed up, poorly performing relief pitcher. Where have we seen this before?

It’s annoying to me that in a year where most of us thought we would be in contention, if perhaps, on the edge, but in contention, most of my attention has turned to the minors yet again. There are some good things happening. Now if we just had a GM I trusted to pull it altogether.

Still hoping that Horwitz can provide numbers like he did for Toronto in 2024. A slow start due to the wrist surgery, but he is putting the ball in play. With Bart having a slightly down year and Reynolds having a bad early Spring, the only hitters we have had are Oneil Cruz and Cutch, with a little support from IKF & Adam Frazier. But we lose the bats of IKF, Pham, and Frazier soon, so it would be nice if the Pirates spent some Pitching Value to get a MOTO Hitter.

Taking a look at the Boston Roster and they are in a major need for SP. Looking at the SP Leaders on Fangraphs there are 74 names. One from Boston, Garrett Crochet, is in the Top 10 and then nothing! Mitch Keller is No. 16, and they have a glut of young hitting. With what they were going to pay Devers, they could cover the cost of the 3 pitchers from the Giants and Keller!

Garcia and Tibbs(3rd) are 2 younger outfielders we could get from Boston. 1 in AAA and 1 they just got from th big trade(single A)

The problem is that for every hitter they add that makes sense -- for example, I completely get the thesis for add Horwitz -- they spend money on two WTH guys like Pham and Frazier.

It's definitely not this gm and ownership apparently is OK with his performance and the lack of performance on the field.
