At this point (Tues. eve.) the official site shows all of the above players signing except Brazoban and Kendrick Herrera. For some reason, these signings appear on the site at a rate of about one every couple hours, even though they all supposedly happened on Monday.
Thank you for the update. Like the basic description of Irwin Ramirez of 6'4" 190, mid 90's already and two off speed pitches - makes me wonder why only $450K.
Braves go all in for Perdomo spending $5.5 mil of their $5.9 mil Pool on one player. How much are teams allowed to exceed the pool amount before penalties are assessed?
I'm hoping at least 2 pitchers from 2023 international signings make it to Florida this spring. Matoma and Castillo, may one of them become our Eury Perez.
Abdiel Feliz 6'0", 160: "He currently trains in the DR with the very well-known Bartolo Colon." I foresee 6'1 and 230. I think Bartolo Colon use to train with Terry Forester and Rick Reuschel. I feel sorry for the training table.
So far, there isn't much that's official. The only signings for sure are Ojeda, Tromp, Williams and Soriano. The official site doesn't exactly get updated in real time. More like Jurassic time. The only info at the official site so far is position, height and weight. Not even nationality.
I'm guessing Soriano is the same guy John Dreker noted a long time ago that the Pirates were expected to sign out of Panama. LHP with three good pitches and a lot of tourney experience. Although the guy currently on the official site is listed as 6'1", while John had 6'4". These things can be pretty scattershot. At one time, the Pirates had a pitcher who was variously listed at 6'1", 6'4" and 6'7".
Just think how the fortune of our franchise would change to get a 15-20 WAR player or two from International signings. Soto, Acuna, Albies, JRod, Framber, etc.
Then he's about the same age that Marte was all those years ago when we signed him :) Marte is my poster boy for not looking down on a signing just because he's not a 16-year-old wunderkind (or wonderkid for Ted Lasso fans).
In some ways it's better when they're older--how many highly regarded 16-year-olds (who probably came to agreements when they were 14) have fallen off the radar by 18? If a player has gone through the developmental changes that are typical from ~14 to ~17 and are able to maintain their projectability, that seems like a plus.
Come to think to think of it, I bet it's a matter of the fact foreign nations use day/month and 'Murica uses month/day. Cause I'm looking at Pipeline and BA, and it's either 09/01 or 01/09. My gut is to trust BA, but Pipeline would make more sense.
I'm willing to bet September is the good date, and he probably had a bit of a "breakout" to the point he could've signed last year but waited for a bigger bonus.
All three look strange to a Spanish speaker. Spanish has no long vowels, so you don't put an "i" after an "a" to change the sound of the "a." "Y" is used almost exclusively as a consonant, and it is very rare to see it appear in place of a vowel.
I would guess, it is Brailin, but it would be pronounced Brah ee leen, with the emphasis on the middle "ee" sound. Brazoban is also an unusual Spanish surname, and seems to be exclusive to the Dominican Republic.
I'll definitely defer to you on that one. Even though I've been with a Latina for a decade, and have a half-decade somewhat bilingual son, I haven't picked up a lick of Spanish lol
Do the pirates have any money left to sign additional players?
Further update:

Oh Boy, just a bit overwhelmed with these signings no stopping the Pirates now...
Some bonus info from MLB Pipeline:
Irwin Ramirez: $450,000
Iverson Allen: $300,000
Thank you for the update. Like the basic description of Irwin Ramirez of 6'4" 190, mid 90's already and two off speed pitches - makes me wonder why only $450K.

Not at all iirc.
Thank you.
The Pirates apparently are going to announce their main signings on Friday.
I'm hoping at least 2 pitchers from 2023 international signings make it to Florida this spring. Matoma and Castillo, may one of them become our Eury Perez.

But hey, if he can play in the bigs until he's in his 40s, and can hit at least one homer in that time, he could be the next Duane Kuiper.
Couple notes:

Also C Javier Acevedo, whom John said is an athletic LH hitter with potential on both sides of the ball.
Iverson Allen was the 3rd Panamanian John mentioned last year I think. All 3 have great names lol.
This has definitely been a great year when it comes to names.

I’d love another Starling Marte. Don’t dare to dream about a Soto or Acuna.
We must dare to dream!!
I dream Skenes, Chandler, and Ashcraft become what we all thought Cole, Taillon, and Glasnow would be for the Pirates.
That's over a half billion in current contracts (CTG).
ah yes, to dream
We signed some good baseball names in Sosa, Ramirez, Martinez, Navarro, Tapia, Feliz, Romero and Herrara.
Apologies for my confusion, but are these names that we are signing or have signed or tied to?
Have agreements.
That is, they've agreed to sign, but haven't officially signed yet.
Thank you both!
Interesting that an 18-year-old is commanding a large bonus.
Different sources have different ages for him. Either 17 or 18.
I updated it to say 17, cause Perfect Game also has it as September, so I think it's a clerical error on BA.
Then he's about the same age that Marte was all those years ago when we signed him :) Marte is my poster boy for not looking down on a signing just because he's not a 16-year-old wunderkind (or wonderkid for Ted Lasso fans).
Good reference!
Yeah, not to go there, but I think people hyper focus on it because of past transgressions. If the kid can play, who gives a shit lol

Not the international market, but looks like the mets got a huge steal on brett baty solely because of age based models not loving him
It's one of those "weird things to obsses over". Too much emphasis placed on age in general, rather than just, "Are they good?"
Weird birth dates as well Jan. 14th of 2006 if 18. (Day before signing day) Sept. 1st of 2006 if 17. (The first day after the cut off date)
Both days have significance to international signings.
Come to think to think of it, I bet it's a matter of the fact foreign nations use day/month and 'Murica uses month/day. Cause I'm looking at Pipeline and BA, and it's either 09/01 or 01/09. My gut is to trust BA, but Pipeline would make more sense.
Yes.... Latin American countries put the day before the month.
I'm sure you're right.
I'm willing to bet September is the good date, and he probably had a bit of a "breakout" to the point he could've signed last year but waited for a bigger bonus.
I think he missed the cut off date. He was right on the line lol
Which, also noticing his name is spelled either Bralyn, Brailin, or Brailyn.

It appears it was "Bralyn"
