Overview
Brazoban was the Pirates’ top signing in the 2023-24 international signing period. He’s a potential power-hitting outfielder with a good arm, giving him a classic right-field profile. He also runs well. Scouts appear to be divided over his hit tool and some outlets, like MLB Pipeline and FanGraphs, don’t rate him as highly as the bonus of $2M would suggest. He was 17 years, four months old when he signed, making him older at signing than most top Latin American prospects. In fact, some sources have his birthdate eight months earlier, but the September 2006 date is the one appearing at MLB.com.
2024
Brazoban had a very rough debut in the DSL. He batted just 155/276/210, showing minimal power and striking out at a 35% rate. He mostly played center.
