Murf Gray is a large man, but also not very athletic and a future RH 1B, a tough profile unless less you hit a ton. Had a good cape season, which probably swayed BC
Carmichael is an athletic catcher who profiles as a backup at best, does everything ok but no plus tool
First comment from O Dowd after the pick was that the Pirates have to start finding a way to turn some of these arms into bats. Meaning get to work on some pitching for hitting trades Ben!!!!
Really hoping Mason Neville makes it through to the Pirates. Got to watch him in person at Oregon this season and he would be a great pick in round 2. LH hitting CF with helium and a great tool kit
I like that his most dominant pitch is a change up. Love the velocity but those elite change ups can be un-hittable even if the velocity on the fastball drops.
Don’t love the last two college picks.

Anthony highlighted this kid yesterday. Surprised we went pitcher again but solid pick I think.

I like others better but he would be a solid pick.
I think that would be a great get at 50. Seems super athletic with good pop.
Can’t see another HS guy here but Quentin Young would be a great pick in round 2 as well
Schoolcraft went 25. Weren't some people talking about him at 6?
Although the team needs hitters I think this is a great pick.
Reds always do weird stuff.
I’m really happy with the pick- means we need to find some bats in the 2nd/comp round
Break an 8 game losing streak and draft Seth Hernandez? A much better outcome than I expected. Yaaaaay!!!!!
BA supposedly considered Seth for their top draft talent, ended up putting him 2nd.
Went for upside last year, might as well do it again.

Yep, their notion for years and years seemed to be draft kids with no change and teach them one, and it never seemed to work out. Like that a lot.
Wild, it's like the Pirates put things back on the program.
Two-way player. I like that. Consistent with what they've been doing with prep Ps. Athleticism.
Great start to the night, I think.
Woooooooo!
We are going to have to spend money on our pick
Is Hernandez a Boras guy?
I think Boras has Holliday, Arquette, and Kade Anderson. That’s why I was skeptical of Arquette going to the Pirates
I don't know about boras , but he is real good and has some leverage.
So, do the Crads take Seth H?
I was totally worried about that…but here he is
Well, supposedly if he's there, they'll take him.
Don’t jinx it
Nope
M's not going off-script. Hopefully Rox take Holliday. Don't really want him.
