Overview
Caro is an infielder who signed late in the 2022 international signing period. He was about three weeks short of turning 18 when he signed, so he was a little older than the usual position player. He’s a relatively small player who takes a big cut, an approach that works for him so far because he tones it down with two strikes. As a result, he’s produced decent power without a lot of strikeouts. Caro has played second, third and short, but his arm and range ultimately will probably work best at second.
2023-24
Caro hit very well in his DSL debut, with good power and plate discipline. His line was 310/440/504. He divided his time more or less equally between second, third and short.
In the FCL in 2024, Caro again had a good year, batting 305/410/443. He did an excellent job of controlling the strike zone, with 22 walks and 24 strikeouts. Caro mostly played second, but played in 13 games at third and one at short. He got a promotion to Bradenton for the season’s last two weeks, playing seven games at second with a .594 OPS.
