Overview
When the Pirates signed him, Orelin was regarded as more of an offense-oriented infielder. He’s alternated so far among second, third and short.
2022-23
Orelin’s debut got interrupted by an injury that cost him the second half of the season. When he played, it was mostly at short, although he spent a little time at second and third. He didn’t hit much and showed no power. In 2023, he didn’t see any more action, but wasn’t hurt. He struggled even more at the plate, with a .469 OPS.
