I hope they have Ager around Skenes as much as possible, body wise they could be twins with a little reshaping on Ager's side. Kinda joking kinda serious
I really appreciated this and need to bookmark it. I am glad there was no moving Falter or Ortiz to the bullpen as 'long' men as I have seen one or two people propose. I think all 5 earned a spot outside of Bubba pulling a full blown Jones type spring training, then it is a good problem. Oviedo having an option is gravy as returns from TJs vary greatly and he needs to show like he is ready and IMO is basically competing with the others in AAA. The one question I have is who is next man up if there is an injury (and there will be a few but we don't know what level or who) occurs at the MLB level. Would it be Burrows assuming Oviedo isn't ready? There really isn't room pending a trade at MLB or AAA IMO. However, I do think that is where a trade will happen as many have speculated. I do think any of the non-Skenes starters should be trade candidates, as I always say it depends on the return. Send me an 'equivalent' corner OF to Jones as a SP - ie. MLB proven very young player and I make the trade. Equivalent being the key and of course debatable word.
Complex - Levi Sterling, Carlos Castillo, Andres Silvera, Reinold Navarro, Ronaldys Jimenez, Adolfo Oviedo, Cesar Aquino
*Marlon Quintana was an older signing from Cuba, I could see him being stretched out possibly.
Janderson Linares, Brandison Polanco, Angel Camacho, Jesus Clode, Dariel Francia should all be stateside in the complex too but all seem to be more of relief arms.
With Bradenton, there's always somebody in the rotation to start the season who seems to come out of nowhere. Usually LatAm guys, because they're typically so much more raw at the start of their careers than draftees. Carlos Jimenez and Luis Peralta were examples.
My candidates for pop-up starters next year would be Dioris Martinez and Pitterson Rosa.
Don't think I ever saw Uribe pitch. Might have to go back on YouTube see if I can find anything from 2023.
One I did see briefly that interested me too, at least from the international side, was Andres Silvera. It was either late 2023 FCL, or Instructs I saw him throw, some of the stuff was intriguing.
A little on the wild side (who isn't at that age) but liked the stuff
Rosa was great in the DSL two years ago right? Or was he just a bigger name? Either way I would love to hear yinzers struggle to call him pitterson and not peterson so would be fun
This is such an obvious area of strength to obtain a hitter I would be shocked if even this incompetent front office doesn't pull the trigger on a trade. However making a good trade is another matter.
Great read and a timely post considering the discussion in the other thread. Seeing the depth stacked up by minor league rotation is quite impressive, and makes me feel comfortable with the idea of trading a starter for a bat, just obviously not Skenes and I’d prefer not Keller.
Pretty stoked to see where Hartle, Reed, and Meuth end up in the second half.

How's his stache?
Last I saw, non existence.
So he will need to start working on that like yesterday. The Stacie could be Skenes secret weapon!

If anything, I think this further proves they should seek to trade pitching for hitting this off-season
They have to at this point it feels like.
My rotation predictions as of now:
MLB-
Skenes, Keller, Jones, Morton(or any vet UFA), Bubba
AAA - Oviedo, Harrington, Ashcraft, Burrows, Chen, Sullivan/Fellows
AA - Barco, Reed, Solometo, Diamond, Perachi, Randall/Massey
A+ - Curtis, Hartle, Kennedy, Dotel, Chang Ercolani/Jimenez/Oliver
A- - Ager, Mueth, Wietgrefe, Antwone Kelly, Clevari Tejada, Kellington/Bimbi
Complex - Levi Sterling, Carlos Castillo, Andres Silvera, Reinold Navarro, Ronaldys Jimenez, Adolfo Oviedo, Cesar Aquino

Is this the gag i told Mel to run where he makes up prospect names?
I got one coming, just waiting for the right time.
Like Martinez. I remember us talking about him briefly during the season. Think fastball got up to 97 with some good movement.
Goal is to start recycling through some of those FCL games to get some ideas on some other guys too (also, no baseball on is boring).
Depending on his injury timeline — don’t know whether it was TJ — Isaias Uribe will be in there somewhere.

That's another guy I think they like some but who was out all year.
This is called the Luis Escobar Award.

He was a big bonus guy, so I guess he’s not a legit “pop up” guy. Was hurt much of this year.

The pitching depth is impressive, Sterling, Castillo, Matoma and others on the complex could potentially be in the Bradenton rotation at some point.
Fix Falter RHP & Ortiz LHP.
