Overview
Rynders’ main tool is plus raw power. A prep shortstop, he’s likely to move to third as a pro due to inadequate range for short. His arm is average. There are some concerns about his swing getting long. His speed is about average or better. MLB Pipeline had Rynders ranked 229th among draft prospects, Baseball America only 350th. Rynders was the third prep shortstop among the Pirates’ top five picks. He had a commitment to Kent State but signed for exactly the slot value.
