Overview
Zapata signed a little after the start of the 2020-21 signing period. So far, he’s had a rough time, between an injury and control issues.
2021-23
In ten relief appearances in 2021, Zapata mostly struggled, with control being a problem. Left-handed hitters torched him for a .952 OPS. In 2022, he went on the injured list at the start of the season and emerged to make two brief appearances in July. In 2023, he made 16 relief appearances, but could not throw strikes. He walked 23 and threw ten wild pitches in 16.2 IP.
