As much as I criticize Shelton, he's made some really good decisions lately. Bring Bae in for Joe was huge tonight. I don't think Joe catches that ball in the 8th.
Ortiz pitching tomorrow? A sweep would be great going into a big week vs the Padres and diamondbacks. If they can take 6 out 9 against padres and diamondbacks they will be in a great spot.
I forget where I read this but it's a good point. A hitter goes on a hot streak. A bad hitter wonders when the streak will end. A good hitter does not think of the streak ending.
Boohyah!!!!!! #56 in the books! Bailey did not Falter after only pitching 3 live innings in rehab. MAT blasts another homer. Another series won and 3 wins in a row for the start of another winning streak! Freakin Raise It!!!!!!
The schedule does not let up: We play Arizona and San Diego for three each at home. Then the Pirates go on the road for three each with Los Angles and San Diego. We're lucky the team will be a bit better tomorrow!
So, with BDLC coming tomorrow, who do you sit? Do you move BRey to DH more often, resting Cutch more? Do you dare sit Taylor when he's on an extremely rare hot streak? Do you save Bae for pinch running and bunting? Does Palacios have a spot at all? Opine below!
MAT makes a whole lot more sense if we have a RF that can actually hit despite defensive woes. I know BDLC's offensive profile will be tough to stomach at times, but would be leading the club in homers is a nice power addition
Are you talking about the play where he had to wait for umpire to get out of the way? Not his fault the umpire failed to move out of Cruz’s line of fire.
He’s been told that repeatedly but just doesn’t get it. I wish the Pirates had the guts to tell him he’s an outfielder and put him there because he’s not and is not likely to ever be a good short stop. He’ll be an all-star in a few years with some team, probably not the Pirates, but definitely not as a SS.
He has frustrating plays but he is a major league SS in my eyes. Something that seemed impossible at first, then improbable, then unlikely, then “this might just be crazy enough to work!”
Woah. 506 comments. That has to be a record!
We need
Three more
For 500
Jake woodford gets the ball tonight, I didnt realize we picked him up... guess he has done pretty good in Indy🤞
Eno sarris and DVR like yorke coming here, think hes decently more value than priester (especially eno’s opinion)
Great work on the comment thread tonight everyone!
What thread?.

Funny how a guy can manage when he actually has some players that can actually play.
Belichek was a genius when he had Tom Brady
Yep, also pinch hitting Tellez and Bart in the 9th in Arizona, definitely stole one for the win column.

It's Woodford.
A reliever game by design of by necessity?
Perez was scheduled
Funny...I'm drinking Woodford right now. It's like when you're thinking of a plate of shrimp and someone says plate or shrimp
That sounds like a bad idea. Are they conceding the third game?

He'll throw a shutout now.
Shelton said he doesn't know yet who is pitching. He will try to figure it out tonight.
Pick Me !!! When the Stros see me limp out to the mound, the won’t be able to stop laughing. They will never be Able to hit my Killer Eephus!
He threw five innings and would have four days of rest. Why would there be a question?
top secret.

Pirates have a tough schedule these last 2 months. They will earn whatever they get.
Go big or go home. The good part is Arizona and San Diego are teams we want to gain ground on.
Excited to see if we are able to generate more offense with the additions.
That's the plan. And we now about 500 LHers for the bullpen just in case!

BRey, MAT, BDLC..... That's your starting OF.

Astros with second most home series wins in MLB. great job taking the series from these guys.
No doubt about it! Bucs win. Does Reynolds have a RBI since the All Star break?
Nope. Four runs scored. Solid OPS & wRC+, but no ribeyes.
HUGE WIN.
raise it!

Jesus O'Neil, just throw the ball. Don't load up for every runner. Pick up the ball and throw it to first.

Ill take that bet on definitely not as a SS.
