The Bucs have 16 series left this year. 13 of them are 3 game sets while the other 3 are 4 game sets. If they can continue to win 2 out of every series that gives them 32 more wins or 88 for the year. So win every series and split the 3 series with 4 games and we are in good shape. Lose a series and we need to make it up with a sweep or 3 out of 4 in the 4 game sets. This is very doable with our pitching. Just can’t have anymore gaffs like in Houston.
Beeks did a great job but Shelton did a better job for using him when he did. Every batter was a lefty or switch hitter, letting Beeks work to his strength or turn the batters around. I moan when he puts guys in positions to fail but this time he put Beeks in a tough position to succeed.
Next year 1B should be whoever's not catching between Bart, Davis and Endy if Endy proves he can hit. If Endy and Davis hit, it's possible these three could cover catcher, 1B and DH.
Agree. Bit of a side note: I saw where some Major league teams were doing the ice bucket thing, but dousing the female sideline reporters. Pretty low class. Glad to see that our team was not participating in that sort of activity.
Henry Davis coming up to be the DH while cutch is out?
Post game said removing him from the game was “precautionary”. I wouldn’t anticipate a DL stint
I hope not. Just leave the dude be to hit and work on catching for a bit.
32-20 to go. Nice to put this one in the books.
Is your math correct? 31-21 maybe?
I'm aiming at 88 for playoffs

Yep, time to get serious or go home.
Booyah!! #56 in da books! Nice team effort. Can win the series tomorrow with Paul on the bump. Hope Cutch is not out too long. Raise it!!!!!

Praise for Derek is rare so I'll like this post.
Bart is now at 1.4 WAR in 129 at bats. 45 games. Allowing for time off, that is still a 4 WAR pace. Great pick up.
If you look at all catchers with 120 PAs he's got the 3rd best wRC+ among all catchers
The Giants thought he'd be Buster 2.0. Maybe he still will.

I like what you're saying here. Assuming Cutch hangs them up I think those 3 could be a strong rotation at those positions.
It might be time to start giving Holderman’s higher leverage innings to Nicholas until Holderman figures it out
Holderman as trade bait this offseason and nicolas/mlod take his role
Will he bring much after this stretch?
Both Carm and Kyle are due some regression - neither has given up a HR yet.
If you look at the Statcast data, I don't think Nicolas is overperforming. Mlod, otoh . . . .
Way to throw the jinx their way 🙄🙄
I think Nicolas bears a strong resemblance to Timothy Dalton. If Berman were still doing highlights on ESPN, he'd be "License to Kyle Nicolas".
Hailey doing a nice job tonight. Everything okay with Hannah?
Theyre both such a big improvement over robby and others imo
Disagree. Can't stand her. I mute her every time I hear her. My wife dislikes her, too.

With Hailey I'd be tempted but I guess I begrudgingly agree :)
To say our bullpen is shaky is an understatement.
What bullpen isn't shaky against Arizona?
Yeah they can rake.
Raise it! Tell you what though, this closer is raggedy as hell.
Can't be giving 4 outs. Bednar's fine.
He’s been shaky all year.
Hasn't blown a save since April 9.
April he was shaky. But he's been very good for 3 months now.
His K’s are down, his HRs allowed are up. A lot of that is April, but he still isn’t missing bats.
Yeah, contact in zone is highest of his career. He's typically 75-77%, this year it's 82%
Nothing's easy. RTJR!
Woosh
Raise it and my bloodpressure, thanks Bednar.
🏴☠️X56.
Cmon now boys, lock this one down
Dbacks don't like to lose.
A red hot team.
Is that bednar's first hundred?
Yep
