Oviedo would be a good story to tell. Did he defect? How did he get to states? He is just blossoming into a stud on the mound. Not to mention BC fleeced the Cards on this trade.
Took awhile to find game thread on mobile! Buried. Anyway, good to see Oviedo taking over as our ace. Keller lost that status pretty dam quickly. I was never fully on his train, probably never will be.
Besides falling off a cliff offensively, he had a bit of a rough year on defense last season.. To illustrate, Jake Marisnick in having a better year both at bat and in the OF. And we didn't like him.
Good to know, just looked at his split, BTW I like Marisnick as a 4-5th OF just as much. Maybe that will end up being Triolo main job, utility that backs up CF. What Bae is supposed to be, but RH.
Except that the Pirates need an actual center-fielder more than a backup at CF. I like Laureano and thought that the Pirates should pick him up, but he will cost somewhere around 4 million next year. There may not be money in the budget for a 4-million dollar 4th OF. His offensive performance fell off after his PED suspension. Part of it is certainly that his numbers prior were "juiced," but also he has been persona non gratis in Oakland, treated very poorly by fans and the local commentariat. He is the perfect example of a guy who is likely to flourish (or at least do better) on a new team.
split series - - should have taken three
not too shabby
Much rather split series and feel like we could have won than lose series and feel like we could have split!
Weimer with an IF glove still snags Key's deep fly.
Wth?
Now that was a BOOM from BRey.
BOOM confirmed
Oooh, a Brewers TOOTBLAN!
Very lucky with that replay. Key has missed tags before like that. He's just too way too passive waiting for the slide. Idk about him.
Has Peggy had a throwing error yet? Maybe one.
Biggest surprise really of all the prospects.
Palacios is getting too much playing time in my opinion
I don't disagree. More than 2 starts a week is too many, and arguably more than one. He's a 4th OF and a valuable bench bat. Use him in that role.
#ace

of all the veterenocity brought in this season, it seems Oviedo reaped the most benefit from Rich HIll
woo haw
got you all in check
endy bunt!!!
this is an impressive game
that opposing starter Woodruff has a 1.76 era for the season
Oviedo is going neck to neck with Bednar as our best pitcher
Breaking out the big bats!
Now Joe BOOM
I think that was a lower case boom. Just snuck out.

I just found it lol
Theres an app too if thats easier :)
Ok woodruff is dealing, but so far oviedo is more than holding his own
Endy BOOM
Wondering if Laureano could handle CF as a weak side platoon partner to Suwinski? He has good numbers against lefties and has a cannon for an arm...
