I think itβs easy; their win probability drastically increases around 4.0 to 4.5 extra base hits.
I havenβt looked at the numbers, but collectively, I think theyβve done a fairly decent job of just getting on base this year relative to years past. However, theyβre having an unbelievably difficult time translating that into actual runs. And, most of the time when I look at the box scores, theyβre losing with 0, 1, or 2 extra base hits. Sounds basic, just something I routinely notice.
Yeah he was slumping, but I was primarily referring to his ROY last season. Some kids, only a few, can come up to majors and hit with no problem. Doesn't look like we can be so lucky (or good)......Cruz, Nicky, now Hank.
With Angel pitching, I'd like to reflect on him beaning Manny. It was the way he stared Manny down after hitting him, like he was saying with his eyes, "You're a fucking asshole." I know it was inappropriate to bean him, and Manny could be the nicest dude on earth, but I loved it.
I think the bullpen is shaping up with a few guys from both the left and right. It would be great if 4 or 5 could turn into high leverage, while 2 or 3 be the long men (Falter, Jackson, Wolf, or Ashcraft) that can go through a lineup once.
Mlod taking down the top 4 in their lineup is pretty impressive. Also jack with a base knock off of LHP for his first hit in like a week, love to see it
I just don't see the Pirates moving off of Hayes, but I hear ya. Triolo probably brings close to the same defensive value with a little more hitting. The big difference: availability.
And maybe that's as good as it gets with Triolo, but he's a rookie. Hayes has over 2 years of experience on him, and a history of watching from the dugout.
Did he throw in the cages at all, jump on a stationary bike, anything to stay heated? Braves did a mound visit, then another mound visit to pull Strider, then new pitcher throwing his warm ups.
Definitely that second part, knowing he can go off the rails quick, you gotta have someone ready before he gives up 4 balls over 110 or whatever it was
Of course they win Bido vs Strider game. Definitely not complaining, but I honestly do not understand this team's hitting. π΅βπ«

Gotta have more of those power hitters then, or good runners who will continue to reach & steal bases!

harris, acuΓ±a, albies is not an easy crew for bednar, but hoping he shuts it down
Hank is 5-54. Unless you are Michael Harris, hitting is just freaking hard at the MLB level. Need to see some analytics on Hank.
Michael Harris was the worst qualified hitter in Major League Baseball a month ago.
Patience, grasshopper.

He's been seeing more and more fastballs. He's not whiffing drastically on anything, but his average EV is sitting a tick under league avg
The eyeballs tonight say he looked overmatched dealing with breaking pitches.

Mlod back out? I know hes only at 16 pitches, but now third inning he's pitched at least part of

Is it just me or could he be a real option for late inning leverage??
He's definitely separating himself as on the holdermann tier imo
Suwinski working to keep that OPS over 800!!
Liover....what an azzzz. That's where the power comes from. Gotta have that lower half.

And there wouldve been a triolo rbi
If Triolo sees that same pitch.

Good grief. This umpire sucks big, hairy, donkey balls.
Lol that was creative, good one
Thank you. Based on your feedback, I will like my post.
Youre really racking up those likes today

Would like to see BRey drive one.
And now in the 5th and 6th Shelton is actually managing his bullpen to try and win. Why not in the 4th?
KeBryans days are numbered

Maybe a few more singles, but far fewer XBHs with Triolo. Hayes will give you an XBH every 12 ABs or so. So far Triolo is 1 every 50.

So are mine. What's your calendar use?
The games back on, would be nice to hold this one.
Their lineup is so deep, im scared only having a 2 run cushion
Me too
26 minutes between Bido's 3rd and 4th inning.
Did he throw in the cages at all, jump on a stationary bike, anything to stay heated? Braves did a mound visit, then another mound visit to pull Strider, then new pitcher throwing his warm ups.
I have no idea what he did or didnt do, but whatever it was he shouldnt ever do it again lol
It's what Marin didn't do with Bido. It's what Shelton didn't do with having someone ready as soon as Bido got hit hard in 4th.
Definitely that second part, knowing he can go off the rails quick, you gotta have someone ready before he gives up 4 balls over 110 or whatever it was
Still Shelton let him pitch the entire 4th.
We were lucky Bido stranded the potential 5th run at third. Can't stay with Bido that long, just can't.
