The Pittsburgh Pirates found themselves in a great position to take a 2-0 series lead against the Atlanta Braves but for the second time in three appearances All-Star closer couldn’t hold a late lead and they now head into game three tied one a piece.
- This has been a fun series. Weird to say when we're down to 2-1, but the games have been exciting and I think the Pirates, particularly the hitters, have acquitted themselves well. I'm not sure if it's fleeting, or if they're forming a team, but its been fun.
- Endy mishandles a lot of baseballs. I love the enthusiasm and the arm, and the bat has potential, but he just drops a lot of baseballs.
- I hate the Braves. Hate them. Hated them since '91 NLCS when we went back to Three Rivers up 3-2 and lost. Hated them more and for eternity when they came back in the bottom of the ninth of game 7 of the '92 NLCS. I just hate them and always will.
- The Braves have a lot of players that have a "punch me in the face" look. Reilly, Ozuna, Olson. This may be related to the last point.
And the defense you see even now from Endy is light years above where he was earlier this year. People calling for his promotion were telling on themselves for either not watching the games or having no idea what they were watching.
Anyways, some actual player development here with what we've seen already. great sign for continued improvement.
I knew the braves were good but just sitting through this series really puts into perspective how dangerous their lineup is- theres really no soft spot at all. And they are going to be together for the next 5+ years at affordable prices. I honestly dont think their pitching is all that great, but boy they are going to fucking mash for years
Maybe true but the way this young current Pirate team has been hanging with them should be encouraging. The Pirates still need some players and will have to start making the little plays that make the difference in close games, but they might not be that far away if management will do the right things before next spring.
Definitely. He has the stuff, just has to control. Was consistently pumping high 90's out of pen once he returned from TJS, and very difficult to hit. But, found difficulty hitting the zone and staying healthy.

Kellington with 5 walks in 3 innings, oof
I'm a full advocate for the #1 ranked Pirates Ginger Beard
I'd like to see him braid the ends of it. Add a real parrot 🦜 on his shoulder at least while he's in the dugout. I think he can pull it off
Selby's got a chance to be a back end kinda guy right?

Woods had 2 k's in his inning.
I guess I was a couple days early on my Key HR calls
