Chandler went seven tonight —- four hits, no runs, no walks, six strikeout. Final 2-0 on a Brannigan two-run HR. Johnson was 0-2 with two more walks.
BTW, i wish Johnson were a bit more like Tony Gwynn and a bit less like Jack Suwinski. This .216 batting average and three true outcomes stuff are a bit of a problem.
Considering some of the other ball/strike calls made in this game, the called strikes on Contreras were not egregious. Definitely not worth getting thrown out for and not worth a potential suspension.
Contreras was right about one of those strike calls, but just imagine if Pirate hitters had reacted anything like he did the other day when Diaz was the ump. They wouldn’t have had anyone left. This ump is an incompetent jerk like a lot of umps these days, but Contreras is a gigantic butthole and clearly demonstrated it for everyone to see. Congratulations and adios.
The one he complained about by making a line in the dirt was a strike. The low strike was a bit low but have seen worse called. Definitely not worth going ballistic and getting tossed over and risking suspension.
Just saw a rumor that the brew crew were in on alonso at the deadline and want him this offseason. A roberts and alonso offseason could be pretty darn nice
He was having odd success in that he wasn't going deep into games, but the stats looked good over time. He's at 97.2 innings in 21 starts (one game he came in during the second inning, but it was still the same pitch/innings situation as a normal start). He has gone more than five innings six times this year and three of those were very mediocre starts. Those aren't good numbers, despite the early success. I don't know why there was a rush to get him to Triple-A, but he's finding out in a pitcher-friendly park that the level isn't a cakewalk.
Hoping that Wainwright gets shellacked today, even with this line up. I can’t explain why, but I enjoy seen former good pitcher that hangs on too long fail, I’m not a good person at times.....
Another piggyback game tomorrow? Look for Ortiz and Jackson to ham and egg it.
Oviedo is an ace
Can be. Still some rough edges but definite potential to be a top of the rotation guy.
Cutch is one away from 300 bombs!

Every time I hear the name Brannigan I think of the 1975 movie with John Wayne, lol.
Start the 20-20 watch for Brannigan

Well I prefer to wait 2 years to compare Johnson with Gwynn. Tony was’t a pro until he was 21. Temarr is still 19.
bubba dubba trouba

Might mean we dont have to see him tomorrow at least lol, though I guess that day game probably means we wouldnt have anyway

Walker gets tossed and it was a strike too.
I would approve of buying low on Miles Mikolas
I think there's a rule that you can't have more than one porn stache on the pitching staff. And you don't want to ask Skenes to shave his.
from 1988 to 1995 each player on the roster had one
it was so much of a mandate, the team logo even had one
The stache is back, baby!
Endy needs a lot of work behind the plate.
Shoulda seen him an April and May!
wow - big shake up in chicago
Will trade them Cherrington and company for Luis Roberts, see if your contacts can make it happen.
gotta think that their whole major league roster is available in trade
between Vaughn, Kopech and Robert we could certainly fill some holes
Bubba for Robert
hurts so good
Just saw a rumor that the brew crew were in on alonso at the deadline and want him this offseason. A roberts and alonso offseason could be pretty darn nice
That’s like $40+ million in salaries!
I like it better when Brey is hitting
Wow we actually got a bunt down
Hope richie's homer inspires josh to carry the team again tonight
Oviedo using plenty of pitches, not even a lot of walks just deep counts. Knocking on wood we can get through 6
Meanwhile wainwright is at 29 through 3 lmao
Jared jones not good tonight, was early this season just a hot streak?

Basically, he's young. Give him time.
I'm not asking for details but MAN do I wish you were given a larger voice at the old site.
hasnt been good since he stopped throwing to tank
Sound like a personal catcher to me!
Cool, let’s send tank to Indy to catch the rest of the year!
Did joe get boomed as bad as it looks on gameday?
I’m assuming you meant robbed, yes two of those strike called where balls.

Maniacal laugh, have to admit Wainwright seems like a good dude, not like Lester and Bumgarder.
Nope. 8.42 ERA and we're back on perfect game watch.
