Scored 2 runs off the best BP in the game, which often would bring a W. Why Shelton or Kelly stayed with German for a 3rd inning should be a fireable offense.
It seems like too often when they're only a run down, they prioritize saving the pen instead of being all in to win. I was hoping we'd see Chapman, Nicolas, or Santana in the 8th.
Looks like IKF tweaked his knee, guessing Triolo gets SS for awhile. Cutch really looked fresh after the IL days off. Despite the layoff, his timing was right on. Cruz is swinging it really well, showing more plate discipline too.
After an off day, they let German go three innings…
If they’re gonna pull this crap and have no problem letting Cruz learn on the job, why are Grandal and McKinney taking up 6 at-bats tonight? Can’t they let Davis, Cook and Yorke learn on the job, too?
Yes. Yes. Yes. This is why the team is in disarray and demoralized. What is trying to be accomplished? Anything? There is no rhyme or reason why they do this and then do that….
It is all just so laughable. I turned it off 8-7, checked back in and, OF COURSE, it is now 10-7. What a joke we have become. All the fight has been taken out because there is no amount of runs we can score that will ever be more than we give up.
I can one up you. I was outside following along and it was 4-0. Came inside and watched a YouTube video before turning on the game to see it 6-4 Pirates. First two pitches I saw were home runs. 8-6. I've only seen the Spiders/Naps/Indians score this game
Is there anyone in this bullpen who can actually do their job? Chapman had a terrible May and took his turn the other night. Bring Neal back just to construct a workable bullpen.
Bednars out as closer a little bit on the late side haha.
Adames and Santander and I'd be happy this offseason. A real 1B would be nice, too.

Peguero is getting hot and on the 40, call him up!
Bless you and your optimism lol. I haven't watched a full game since the trade deadline.

Hasn't been a plan for years.
Good news, Brady Feigl cleared waivers and he was sent outright to Indianapolis
Gotta maintain a supply of guys to blow leads.
Anyone really think it's fair that a homer off of Clase only counts for one run? The guy had an 0.58 ERA coming into the game!
What is the average runs scored per game by this team since the trade deadline?
166 runs/38 games = 4.368 runs per game.
Which is actually better than what Cleveland is doing in 2nd half.
Conversely, Bucs pitching and defense has given up 205 runs, or 5.395 runs per game.
Thank you.
Cutch with the hot bat

Really respect that we were one run down and just threw in the towel after an off day lol
At least Grandal and McKinney got an opportunity to show what they can do in case they want to come back next year!
Taking Tellez out in The 7 inning is a tiny head scratcher.
Unless we determined it didn’t matter as we would give up too many runs for them to consider using their closer
Leading off the 7th his spot would likely come up again and almost certainly against a righty in a save situation.
Agreed. A strange way to waste a bullpen arm
Given last year, Cruz is having a pretty good season.
Things usually go better when your leg survives beyond April.
His wRC+ for July 133. For August 174 (excluding today's game). If he manages to hit for more power than he is right now!
Given any year, Id say hes having a very solid season, let alone this being his first full one in the bigs
He'd be the 5th best CF in MLB by his current fWAR, tied with Buxton.
Doesn’t matter who they throw at this point they are getting hit hard
Took my pups out when Mlod was coming in, got back in and the pirates are losing.

I think the bullpen catchers are ok.
Nice.
Tellez can be sent to the bullpen, but he's not there now
German up, they are waving the white flag!
Eruption, Krakatoa type.
