Since Triolo has been playing consistently he is hitting as good as, if not better than hayes.

Hayes was one of the worst hitters in the league. 3rd worst with 300 PAs. Triolo is 8th worst with 300 PAs. Tri's been 107 wRC+ since 7-25 though.

Yes, please just beat the Cubs!

Skenes tomorrow, so decent chance to take game 2, but Steele for Cubs is a tough lefty.

I really don’t give a fuck if we win a single game after this series as long as we utterly ruin the Cubs season

Although Cruz hasn’t necessarily been challenged in CF, he looks comfortable out there. Small sample obviously, but he looks like one cool cat

Great inning! Hardly over yet though….

And man, BDLC. It is almost impossible to imagine a worse pickup at the deadline. The poor guy and the poor Pirates.

I honestly can’t remember a worse deadline pickup.

If Chapman is going to pitch the 8th, I don't want to know about the 9th.

Denny Santana?

Sounds like a baseball country song.

But I don't know if anything rhymes with 'ninth'

Maybe “I’m going to need to drink more than one pinth to watch the ninth.”

I'd re-sign the guy, maybe even bump him up another mil.

But I have to ask how in the world he earns a -11.1 fielding WAR when he's only played 21 innings.

Lifetime contract until he proves otherwise.

DH defensive metrics are always in the hole.

They have to absolutely mash to have any kind of positive impact.

Expand full comment

That's something I'll never understand. A DH should only be measured on offense and baserunning.

Expand full comment

Totally agree

But the metrics look at all aspects

Not playing defense knocks a player down
