They’d have to play .700 baseball to finish .500 for the year. Certainly not very likely but anything close to that would be a great building block for next year especially if Cherington is willing to go out and get the missing pieces to fill the holes in this lineup. Something actually hopeful to help get through the off season instead of just the usual wishful thinking.

Had that not happened, the Bucs actually would have extended Cole, the Archer trade never happens and the Pirates would have won 3 WS titles.
