I know is not the best of options, but if given a choice for a 4th outfielder next year, would you rolled with Palacios or look to trade for someone like Victor Robles (who has good numbers against lefties)?
I live in DC and have followed Robles’ career closely. I have been a fan, but even I have to admit that it looks like he’s just never going to be the player that he promised to be when he came up along with Soto. He’s a solid defensive outfielder, but he makes frequent mistakes, in the field and especially on the bases. At the plate he’s lost his power, but at least this year was showing signs of becoming an on-base guy.
But given his overall performance and now the health concerns, he’s too much of a risk.
I should add that it’s possible that the Nats cut bait on Robles in the off season rather than keeping him on the roster and paying him arbitration dollars. If he is a free talent then i could see bringing him in on a minor league contract/make good contact.
He has a better arm than Reynolds and Jack. Let's see how the competition unfolds at ST. He's definitely in consideration espec with his bat coming on.
I was referring to RBI, but your comment made me laugh. Wish I could remember who that guy was years ago who used to post endlessly on some other site about Pence being the Giants glue guy. Hell, I don't even remember what site it was.
I think that's kind of true. We have a ton of guys who couldn't get through an MLB lineup twice... The Bucs have had to do a lot of bullpen games this season. I'd like a study on them to see just what the cost/ benefit is when you go on the cheap with fungible pitchers with just enough stuff for 9 outs.
I feel like it could work? But its probably a bit gimmicky and also has the chance to crash and burn so would be a last resort kinda deal on a good team
Falter got hit hard in the 4th, 5 or 6 balls over 100 EV. Somehow he recovered in 5th and 6th. Wondering what adjustments he, Endy, or Marin made?

Robles out almost all year with back injury. He also has gone thru some long hitting slumps with Nats.....so it's a pass for me.

Priester gets the start tomorrow
"start"
Oh shit, he the *bulk* guy?
Yep. Got to get Colin Selby that starting opportunity.
oh ffs
But hes excelled in that role so far!
Supposedly hitting 96 with the sinker, color me skeptical!
I'd like to see Nicky G. hitting here in Alika's spot.
He must really be in the doghouse.
Nick the Stick will get here. Late bloomer. It'll click, I think.
I settle for Peguero!
But Vinnie is there too.....??
I predict Andujar is gonna be our Hunter Pence in 2024.
GLUE

buddy you said it, I know exactly what you're talking about and no more.
When Palacios squares it up, which unfortunately isn’t very often, the ball cries uncle.
6 walks & 5 hits yields 2 runs. wtf
Havent gotten a big hit with the bases juiced yet
Thought Joe had it for a second
Andy Haines.
That’s not it.
12 LOB thru 5 innings. What is the MLB all-time record in a game? We can't be far off pace.
Damn a whole lot of nothing with the bases loaded tonight
Let this be Hayes from now on!
Falter is great one-time through the order. Common theme, we should have a strong bullpen next year, along with piggybacking Falter and Jackson.
That gives us a third starter! Lol

Williams arm......
Oh my.....look what ended up in my glove! BRey.
The Nats giveth the out! Just like the early season Cleveland’s with Willie Mays Hayes in CF
Suwinski looks like he is going to make Hayes' life a bit tough if wants to catch him in the OPS department
Bae’s arm doesn’t belong in the infield! Luckily, he seems to have made improvements in CF!
Endy! Framing is cool and all but hedgy couldnt touch Endy's ability to snag some CS
Endy’s framing has improved as well.
Another dude who tightened up a ton since the beginning of the year. Throwing was UGLY through May.
Development!
