It had been too long since Tim Williams showed up on this site with some conspiracy. Glad to see him back in action with the comments

We need "money" Moreta yesterday.

We needed a clean 8th inning and Joey didn't deliver. Then again, we would have seen Alvarado in the 9th in a 5-3 game. Anyway, I think a dfa is coming for Wentz.

If they dfa'd everybody on the 40-man who doesn't belong in the majors, they'd have about 15 guys left.

I'm not sure what value Wentz provides though. He is really bad and has been very lucky so far. He just serves up meatballs left and right. Stratton and Ryder are probably both better. Neither has options, so Wentz is not really even providing depth.

Relievers with options are really important, and Cherington just seems oblivious to this as he assembles a bullpen of highly marginal players with no options. The only thing keeping Wentz around is a lack of options.

They need to dfa Birdbrain before any other moves will help.

Holderman has options. I have no idea why they have not optioned him for Stratton or Ryder. He could go down to AAA, get a slider to go with his sinker, and be good.

Even with pitching, the stuff they do makes no sense. And BTW, where is all this vaunted pitching depth? Right now, that depth is Bubba and Chandler, unless Barco is OK.

You can analyze it a hundred different ways -- They should bring up this guy, send down that guy, and so on. It makes no difference. As I've said many times, they're half a roster away from being a decent, much less good, team. With so many crappy players, day after day the wrong guy is going to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. There'll always be somebody to blow up a game. This is what Birdbrain has assembled. There's no escaping it until he's gone, which is why every day Nutwit waits is going to be another two days it takes a competent GM -- in the highly unlikely chance Nutwit hires one -- to fix things.

Wentz has no options left, so he's definitely a candidate.

That guy Mlodzinski might have been a good late inning option tonight.

At least they kept their 4 runs or less streak.

It really is almost impossible but the streak lives on.

I hope that AB doesn't send Cruz to the IL.

A good job by Kelly for sticking up for his pitcher when they didn't call the swing on Harper. An over-reaction by the instigating umpire as welll.

That being said, the Pirates just came off a 4 ot 0 win and were winning 3 to 1. Kelly has to learn to keep himself in the game in that situation. There will be plenty of times this year he will need to rock the boat. That was not one of them.

Now... wait until they bring in a lefty to pinch hit Cruz. They have to be trying to be this stupid on purpose, because no one actually is.

why is their reliever wearing a terrible towel on his head?

OMG. You can't even advance on a wild pitch 5 feet wide and to the backstop to run out of the double play possibility?

This team is so bad. Words can't describe it.

I think it's Canario. He's not a good baserunner.

They are the worst baserunning team that I have ever seen... at any level of baseball. I have never seen a team fail to advance on a total wild pitch 5 feet off the plate before... ever.

Shoot, my bad guys. I turned on the game and the first pitch I saw was Kelly getting tossed. All went to shit from there....I should've just watched John wick 3. Totally my fault.

Not only can we not hold a lead we make sure we can’t come back too. This happened so often last year too. Our bullpen closes the door…on us!
