Couldn't watch the game live. I knew the outcome by the number of comments on this post before I read them or even turned the replay on. Amazing Bucco site!

I have never understood the Mlod rotation experiment. Burrows and Chandler would be better options to try. The team needed Mlod in the bullpen. I think this was a "don't tell someone no" move to satisfy the player. Leaders know when to say no.

At the very least Mudge should be piggy backing with someone. Jeez.

Just saw KG line a single straight up the middle. Pitcher threw up his hands and bailed over backwards like it was an RPG.

KG got to third, then with the IF in and a grounder to SS, he beat the throw home. Maybe the contact play will work with him.

He sounds like he could be an actual good player. Something they're foreign to at the moment.

Sadly, he's probably already better than the guys playing tonight for the major league team.

Did not expect to see Jebb and Pichardo carrying Altoona offensively.

It’ll be interesting to see whether the Cheringtons can get their WL% below .300.

The non-competitive portion of this game has commenced.

That started with the exchange of lineup cards.

Well... Bednar, Santana, and Ferguson should be very well rested by the next time the Pirates have the lead in the 8th and 9th innings... like 6 weeks of rest.

The setup, closer strategy... so smart.

There may be a strategy involved, to get Skenes more wins. Save your best for his games. Don't piss him off anymore than he already is about being a Pirate.

Didn't see it but Griffin hit a double 112mph, followed by a Bishop homer.

I remember three hilarious things about him:

1. Getting scared off during the all-star game by Randy Johnson's delivery

2. Wearing a t-shirt after his testicular cancer that said he would take his ball and go home.

3. After a spring training game, a woman saw him smoking a cigarette and said "You can't smoke, you're an athlete" and he said, "I'm not an athlete lady, I'm a ballplayer."

I watched the O's pre-game and there were at least 6 players interviewed and announcers distressed about Hyde's firing. Really a lot of admiration for him.

Totally different than when Shelton got fired......everyone was quietly happy.

Big difference between a guy who's actually won something and a guy who's one of the losingest managers ever.

The O's had a terrible game last night. Some lack of hustle and 15 LOB, couldn't get the key hit.

Owner was sitting in the front row.
