Couldn't watch the game live. I knew the outcome by the number of comments on this post before I read them or even turned the replay on. Amazing Bucco site!
I have never understood the Mlod rotation experiment. Burrows and Chandler would be better options to try. The team needed Mlod in the bullpen. I think this was a "don't tell someone no" move to satisfy the player. Leaders know when to say no.
Well... Bednar, Santana, and Ferguson should be very well rested by the next time the Pirates have the lead in the 8th and 9th innings... like 6 weeks of rest.
There may be a strategy involved, to get Skenes more wins. Save your best for his games. Don't piss him off anymore than he already is about being a Pirate.
1. Getting scared off during the all-star game by Randy Johnson's delivery
2. Wearing a t-shirt after his testicular cancer that said he would take his ball and go home.
3. After a spring training game, a woman saw him smoking a cigarette and said "You can't smoke, you're an athlete" and he said, "I'm not an athlete lady, I'm a ballplayer."
I watched the O's pre-game and there were at least 6 players interviewed and announcers distressed about Hyde's firing. Really a lot of admiration for him.
Totally different than when Shelton got fired......everyone was quietly happy.

At the very least Mudge should be piggy backing with someone. Jeez.
The Cheringtons now have a WL% of .326.
Just saw KG line a single straight up the middle. Pitcher threw up his hands and bailed over backwards like it was an RPG.
KG got to third, then with the IF in and a grounder to SS, he beat the throw home. Maybe the contact play will work with him.
He sounds like he could be an actual good player. Something they're foreign to at the moment.
Sadly, he's probably already better than the guys playing tonight for the major league team.
Liover Peguero started at 1stbase for Indy today(1st game) WTH is wrong with this picture. 1st base
Kind of a farewell, I'd say.
Did not expect to see Jebb and Pichardo carrying Altoona offensively.
I predicted that on April 31 at 2:38 pm, look it up if you don’t believe me.
It’ll be interesting to see whether the Cheringtons can get their WL% below .300.
The non-competitive portion of this game has commenced.
That started with the exchange of lineup cards.
🤣

The setup, closer strategy... so smart.

Didn't see it but Griffin hit a double 112mph, followed by a Bishop homer.
Bishop with a triple
I'm convinced that the Phillies have the best announcers in baseball.
Kruk is a national treasure
Truth
I remember three hilarious things about him:
That's the title of his book, "I ain't an Athlete, Lady"
It IS easier when you aren't required to make an endless stream of excuses for a sad sack team.
Orioles down 10-2, maybe we could smash our teams together and win 80 games!

Big difference between a guy who's actually won something and a guy who's one of the losingest managers ever.
The O's had a terrible game last night. Some lack of hustle and 15 LOB, couldn't get the key hit.
Owner was sitting in the front row.
Hell, that's every night for the Pirates.
Except for the owner part.
🤣🤣🤣
If Birdbrain became GM, he'd keep all the worst players from both teams. It'd lose 140.
Plaz goes boom.
And YDLS, btb.
Missed them, was watching Termarr ground into a DP.
What?! He grounded into a DP! What a bum. Total bust. Bump him down to 12 or 13 on the Pirates' prospects list.,
He's lucky he hit a triple earlier.
Plaz hit a towering fly to CF. YDLS went oppo.
Kelly likes to give guys off after a good game, Canario today, Hayes on Wednesday, I was hoping that would stop.
The last thing that the Pirates want to do is reward success. It might raise expectations.
Welcome a real first baseman! Great defense, moving his feet, throwing a strike to Bart.
And the contact play fails again. Need to see some analytics on the results. Why do managers keep calling for it.....lol.
Endy and Suwinski with homers, Harrington through 3 scoreless.
Termarr tripled and I think Picardo homered.
Pichardo’s red hot.
Major league game — well, the Phillies are in it — not looking good. Maybe just follow the other minor leaguers tonight.
Sale and Wheeler in same week, how lucky are we.
If Wheeler doesn’t wipe his ass with this Pirates lineup like he did last year it’ll be a miracle.
Looking like a 10K game for him.
Yep, I wonder if the Phillies will score more runs than Wheeler strikes out?
Mlod battled back.
